Utajärvi is located in Northern Ostrobothnia. The county has 2995 residents. The total area is 1736,23 square kilometers out of which 63,67 square kilometers is water. Population density is 1,74 residents / km^2.
Utajärvi county operation system is the first one in Finland to have been developed according to the ISO9001-quality system guidelines.
The vast Natura-area of Rokua and its environmental system guarantees excellent setting for invigoration and relaxation. You can also enjoy Oulu river, Kiiminki river and vast conservation and wilderness areas.
Affirmative for development has been included into the county’s values since 1991. Innovation, open-mindedness and orderliness in both developing businesses and housing have been the strengths of Utajärvi.
In December 2004 Utajärvi got the right to use title Fair Trade-county as the first county in Finland. The events organized by the county use Fair Trade products and promote the use of Fair Trade products.
